Teaching the skills, tactics and strategies of Basketball is a rewarding experience. The quality of coaching is one of the primary reasons why players either continue to participate in Basketball or give up the game. The coach has significantly more influence upon players than any other official or person connected with basketball.
All coaches are required to be registered with Ipswich Basketball Basketball. https://membership.sportstg.com/regoform.cgi?formID=84917
All coaches need to be accredited or in the process of becoming accredited. Typically new coaches start with a junior Club team whilst they continue to develop their coaching philosophy and build on their coaching skills. Senior coaching positions tend to be advertised through our website, and social media.
It is important that Basketball coaches maintain standards for the integrity of the sport and the general good of coaches. Visit either Basketball Australia Coaches Code of Ethics or Basketball Queensland Coach Code of Behaviour for details on what all Coaches must adhere to.
